The industry has gone five straight quarters with under 100 deals.

State of play: VCs seem to be treading with caution amid geopolitical turmoil, and increasingly concentrating investments on later-stage deals.

By the numbers: Deal value was down 42.4% from the prior quarter, excluding the $16 billion Waymo deal in Q1.
