Reality check: Accuracy matters more in finance than in most AI use cases.

A minor error might be tolerable elsewhere, but a payroll, audit or compliance agent cannot be "mostly right."

Ramp's valuation has surged from about $1.6 billion to $44 billion since 2021, even after getting marked down during the fintech reset.

By the numbers: The corporate spend startup was valued at $1.6 billion in April 2021, fell from $8.1 billion to $5.8 billion in 2023, and is now worth $44 billion after its Series F funding.

The bottom line: Ramp's rise shows how quickly investor appetite has returned for scaled fintech companies capable of moving beyond a single product to sell a broader AI-powered finance platform.
