Sunscreen company Colorescience has tapped Raymond James to prepare the company for a sale, three sources tell Axios Pro.

Follow the money: The company is seeking a valuation of up to $300 million, Axios Pro has learned.

Zoom in: Carlsbad, California-based Colorescience is expected to top $100 million in sales this year, the sources say.

Colorescience sells mineral sunscreens and a sunscreen-makeup hybrid for between roughly $50 to $100. Its products are sold in dermatologist offices as well as on Amazon.

The company has raised debt and equity financing from K2HealthVentures, Revelation Partners and 1315 Capital, per PitchBook.

Zoom out: Skin care deals have captured headlines this year.

e.l.f. Beauty acquired rhode, Hailey Bieber's skin care brand, for a reported $1 billion in May.

L'Oreal was right behind, acquiring the clinical skin care brand Medik8 for a reported $1 billion in June.

Yes, but: The market's appetite for more of these deals remains unknown.

Raymond James and Colorescience did not respond to a request for comment.
