Medtech software platform AcuityMD raised $80 million in Series C funding at a $955 million valuation, CEO Michael Monovoukas tells Axios Pro exclusively.

The big picture: Med tech is emerging from a margin squeeze, and AI can help rebuild profitability.

Follow the money: StepStone Group led, joined by Benchmark Capital, Redpoint Ventures, ICONIQ and Atreides Management.

AcuityMD has raised about $160 million total.

How it works: AcuityMD sells intelligence software for sales and marketing teams at medical technology companies.

It's designed to help salespeople identify potential customers and generate leads.

It has also developed AI agents that automate sales call recaps, CRM data entry and pre-call planning.

What's next: The company plans to add new AI use cases, including a tool that can help managers align sales reps to specific territories.

"Our No. 1 goal is to build the best possible experience for the sales rep through AI," Monovoukas says. "So that means providing more and more insights to help them sell, and also automating more and more of their administrative work."

By the numbers: While the majority of Acuity's customers are pre-commercial stage, approximately 40% of its revenue comes from more established players like BD, Zimmer and Olympus Medical Systems.

AcuityMD will have over 500 customers by the end of April, Monovoukas says.
