The Senate Finance Committee will hold a confirmation hearing on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s nomination for HHS secretary on Jan. 29, aides said.
Why it matters: The hearing is sure to have fireworks, particularly from Democrats, over Kennedy's history of vaccine criticism.
What we're watching: It will also be a forum to see if any Republicans express concerns, and if any Democrats express openness.
Kennedy can only afford to lose three Republican votes if Democrats are unified in opposition.
The Senate HELP Committee expects to hold its confirmation hearing on Kennedy on Jan. 30, according to a HELP spokesman, but only Finance will vote on whether to advance Kennedy's nomination.
