How it works: Numos sits on top of a company's existing finance stack, pulling data from accounting software, billing tools, data warehouses and spreadsheets.

The platform also incorporates unstructured data from invoices, PDFs and email threads to add context that typically does not live in systems of record.

It links that data to explain why financial metrics change and automates workflows such as reconciliations and reporting.

Numos says its system shows the underlying data and audit trail for each output, allowing teams to review outputs before making changes.

"We choose to have a separation of AI as the preparer and human as the reviewer," Sarkar says.

State of play: The company says customers like Udemy and Dandy use the platform to speed up close cycles and financial reporting.

Implementation typically takes two to four weeks, with companies starting on one or two use cases and expanding over time.

Once deployed, Numos says customers, including Udemy, have reduced monthly analysis cycles by up to 80%, while others, including Dandy, have cut close times by days.

Context: Numos was founded by Sarkar, a former Zenefits executive, and CTO Mitul Tiwari, who previously built AI systems at LinkedIn and ServiceNow.
