Hakimo, an AI video monitoring startup, closed a $12 million Series A2 led by Zigg Capital, CEO Sam Joseph tells Axios Pro exclusively.

What's next: A Series B could be around 12 months away, Joseph says.

How it works: Hakimo adds technology to a facility's existing camera infrastructure, so a single operator can monitor what used to require multiple people.

The system monitors around the clock and can be programmed to look for specific incidents or details.

Zoom in: Existing investors Neotribe Ventures, Vertex Ventures, Defy.vc, and Rocketship.vc joined the new round.

By the numbers: Hakimo has 300-plus customers, ranging from enterprises with large campuses to smaller multifamily and hospitality firms.

The startup has tripled revenue year to year for the last three years.

Hakimo has raised $32 million since it was founded in 2020, including a $10.5 million Series A last year.

What they're saying: "We're still in the first inning of AI adoption for the real physical world," Guy Johnston, a partner at Zigg Capital, says. "But I'm really impressed with the quality of businesses Hakimo is working with and the quality of growth."
