Penetration testing platform Terra Security raised a $30 million Series A led by Felicis, co-founder and CEO Shahar Peled tells Axios Pro.

Why it matters: AI has made coding and software development proliferate, creating more of it to analyze and secure.

How it works: Terra provides a continuous penetration testing platform, which includes a swarm of AI agents to run advanced tests tailored to each organization's unique risk profile.

Terra's agentic AI platform not only mimics attacker behavior but also identifies deep vulnerabilities.

The New York-based Terra has raised $38 million in total funding since it was founded in 2024.

What they're saying: Terra was not actively raising a Series A — which it had planned to go after next year — when investors reached out to the company, Peled says.

The company had only spent about 20% of its $8 million seed round when investors approached, he says.

Context: The company started to sell its services in Q2 and has more than 10 paying customers in verticals like health care, tech and finance, Peled says.

The bottom line: More code means more problems — and more testing.
