Data platform Definite raised a $10 million seed round led by Costanoa Ventures, CEO Mike Ritchie tells Axios Pro.

Why it matters: The Philadelphia-based startup is looking to simplify how enterprises access and use their data.

"It was one of the fastest [fundraising] processes I've seen," says Costanoa partner John Cowgill, adding the round only took about two weeks to raise.

What's next: The company may look to raise a Series A sometime next year.

How it works: Definite attempts to replace the patchwork data stack enterprises currently use with an open-source-built platform, containing a data lake, data pipelines and business intelligence tools.

The company integrates AI agents to help run the analytics process.

Context: The startup, which started selling in earnest six months ago, has dozens of paying customers, Ritchie says.

The bottom line: "We are solving the anxiety problem companies feel around their data," Ritchie says.
