Kasa, a hospitality operator and tech company, locked up a $40 million investment led by Silver Lake Waterman, founder and CEO Roman Pedan tells Axios Pro.

How it works: Kasa partners with real estate owners to operate U.S. hotels and apartment hotel properties.

The company leverages its own hospitality software — which uses AI — to help give better guest experiences and maximize owner profitability.

Zoom in: Founded in 2016, Kasa has raised a total of $160 million, Pedan says.

Kasa raised a $70 million Series C last year led by Citi Ventures and FirstMark Capital, with participation from New York Life Ventures, Fireside Investments, RET Ventures, Zigg Capital and Ribbit Capital.

Other investors in the new round were not named.

By the numbers: The company more than doubled its business in the past year to surpass $100 million in booking revenue, and has reached EBITDA breakeven.

Kasa works with over 85 properties across the U.S. through partnerships with firms like Starwood Capital, Berkshire, and Brookfield.
