President-elect Trump's nominees for DOE, Interior and EPA will face senators next week for confirmation hearings.
Why it matters: The energy team will be at the forefront of Trump's "energy dominance" agenda that's expected to lean heavily on fossil fuels production, along with nuclear and geothermal.
Driving the news: Interior nominee Doug Burgum, the North Dakota governor who was also tapped to lead a new National Energy Council, will get a hearing in Senate ENR on Jan. 14, per a source familiar with the committee's plans.
DOE nom Chris Wright, CEO of oil and gas firm Liberty Energy, will go before the committee the following day.
And EPA nominee Lee Zeldin, a former House Republican, may appear before EPW next week, per E&E News.
What we're watching: We've heard that public lands, climate change and the nuclear arsenal will be likely questions.
The confirmation hearings could also offer some insight into what, exactly, the National Energy Council is going to do.
