Driving the news: Ambros Therapeutics agreed to merge with Werewolf  Therapeutics Friday in an all-stock deal, alongside a $150 million private placement.

Slate Medicines said on Monday it will combine with struggling Fulcrum Therapeutics, following the discontinuation of its sickle cell drug.

Skye Bioscience last week entered an agreement to combine with privately held Redx for a new public company called Fibrx.

Caldera Therapeutics struck a reverse merger with the Nasdaq-listed Synlogic last month.

Between the lines: Legacy public shareholders in four July deals retained 1-2% of the combined companies, while PIPE investors took as much as 53%, underscoring the weight of incoming private companies and new investors.

The bottom line: Bankers, VCs and executives expect reverse merger momentum to continue, fueled by a backlog of private companies and available shells, according to EndPoints News.
