❤️🔥Happy TS 12 day to all who celebrate!
Today's moves newsletter is 1,686 words, 6.5 minutes.
1 big thing: Targeted Victory promotes Matt Gorman to CCO
Matt Gorman has been appointed chief communications officer of Targeted Victory, the digital marketing and political affairs shop founded by Republican operative Zac Moffatt.
Why it matters: The firm seeks to help Fortune 100 companies navigate Trump's Washington.
Catch up quick: Before joining Targeted Victory in 2019, Gorman served as communications director for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).
- Gorman has also worked on several political campaigns, including as a senior adviser to Tim Scott for America, rapid response director and national spokesman for Jeb Bush's 2016 presidential campaign, and deputy rapid response director on Mitt Romney's 2012 campaign.
What he's saying: "Public affairs has been one of the fastest-growing parts of our business, especially over the last year," Gorman told Axios.
- "The reality is, advocacy and messaging are shifting dramatically. If you're doing the same things you've always done, you won't just get the same results. You'll be left behind," he added.
What he's watching: The impact AI will have on the workforce and the growing intersection of politics and business.
- "It's no longer enough to avoid the thickets; companies need to be prepared to navigate them with a clear strategy, mitigate risk before it becomes a crisis, and tell a compelling story that resonates with employees, policymakers, and the public," he says.
