It'll finally be cooler this weekend, so make some plans.
The big picture: Beachside Oktoberfest, free art festivals and a haunted train ride are just a few of the options.
🍺 Ocean Beach Oktoberfest: Celebrate with live music on the Jägermeister Main Stage, DJs, stein-holding contests and a Y2K theme at the OB Pier parking lot Friday 4–11:30pm and Saturday noon–11:30pm. General admission is $20 at the door; ages 21+.
🎨 La Jolla Art & Wine Festival: Browse work by more than 170 artists, hear live music, and bring the kids to the family art center along Girard Avenue Saturday and Sunday from 10am–6pm. Admission is free; the 21+ wine and beer garden requires a separate ticket.
✨ Art Glass Guild Fall Patio Show: Watch glassworking demonstrations, shop local artists' creations, and make a take-home mosaic at Spanish Village Art Center in Balboa Park on Saturday and Sunday from 10am–4pm. Admission is free, and pets are welcome.
🖌️ Greater Logan Heights CommUnity Mural Dedication: Celebrate neighborhood murals with the artists, live music and refreshments Saturday from 10am–noon at 37 20th St. The event is free and open to all, with an RSVP requested.
🤠 Lakeview at Moonshine Beach: The country duo performs with Cole Barnhill at Moonshine Beach in Pacific Beach on Saturday at 7:30pm. Doors open at 7pm; ages 21+.
🚂 Sip & Scare Sunset Special: Board a haunted train for an hourlong ride through the Campo backcountry Saturday at 6pm, followed by a graveyard-themed party with live entertainment. Tickets start at $49.95 and include a cocktail or mocktail and entry to the Lost Train attraction; ages 21+.
🌴 Lost Temple Tavern: Margaritaville's LandShark Bar & Grill becomes a haunted tropical outpost with skeletons, tangled vines and themed cocktails, opening Saturday from sundown–11pm, with a DJ at 7:30pm. Admission is free; food and drinks cost extra.
🏃 Mission Bay Triathlon & 5K: Race or cheer on competitors around Mission Bay on Sunday, with the triathlon starting at 6:40am and the standalone 5K at 7:15am. The 5K starts near Ventura Cove and finishes at Bonita Cove Park.
🍝 The Feast: Splurge on a four-course, family-style dinner by Barbusa at communal tables on India Street between Fir and Grape streets Sunday from 5–10pm, celebrating the Busalacchi family's 40 years in San Diego. General admission is $371.78 including service fees, with wine service and entertainment included; ages 21+.
🎹 DOMi & JD Beck: Extend the weekend with the duo's Who Asked? tour at House of Blues downtown Monday. Doors open at 7pm, with the show scheduled for 8pm.
