If you're parking downtown, in North Park or in Pacific Beach, pay attention.
The big picture: Those three neighborhoods have seen the most parking tickets this year, according to city data analyzed by Axios.
Zoom in: We mapped all the parking tickets from January through July.
- Downtown had by far the most, and they were largely for meter violations and parking in passenger zones.
- In Pacific Beach and North Park, street sweeping tickets were the biggest chunk.
Zoom out: As you move farther from downtown to areas like Tierrasanta and Navajo, wheel cramping tickets take top billing.
The bottom line: Break a parking rule and you'll likely see one of those day-ruining receipts fluttering under your windshield.
