New Get It Done app still can't report off-leash dogs

Zoom in: The new Get It Done app interface has a single-screen report page that allows you to quickly enter all the information in one place.

Flashback: The city has been working on adding free-range dog reporting to the app since at least April.

• It's part of a plan for people to self-police their dogs at school fields instead of reporting off leash dogs to the Humane Society. Dogs fouling up school fields has become an issue across the city in recent years.
• If fields are covered with dog poop, they could be closed temporarily as punishment.

That plan launched this week as a pilot program at three schools — Pacific Beach Middle School, Birney Elementary School and Franklin Elementary School — and will expand over time, according to city officials.

What they're saying: You can report off leash dogs on the web version of Get It Done, city spokesperson Benny Cartwright told Axios.
