Sips and Snacks: Treehouse eating in Del Mar

The vibe: Owner PJ Lamont told Axios that when he saw the location, he couldn't resist.

• "It feels like you're outside, even though you're inside," he said of the layout, which has the restaurant on one side, a bar on the other and a big fire pit in the middle.
• In typical Queenstown fashion, it's been styled with a strong look.
• This spot has grass and leaves that feel like a treehouse.

Dig in: The menu sticks to the staples from the other Queenstown locations in Little Italy and the UTC mall, including meat and veggie pies, lamb and wagyu burgers and salads.

Best bites: If you don't mind some spice, the poke tacos are light and flavorful.

• The shrimp and mango salad is also perfectly seasoned.
• For a bigger meal, try the sea bass or one of the smashburgers.

Happy hour: Weekdays 3–6pm with $7 beers, $10 wines and cocktails and a small menu of shareables.

It's long been a dream to be in Del Mar, Lamont said.

• "It's got a small town feel and the people that live there or do business there really do take pride in their town," he said.
