It's officially summer and we have your weekend plans right here.
The big picture: From ice cream to chili to the Beach Boys, there's plenty to do to celebrate the sunshine and summer vibes.
🌶️ Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off — Live music, local vendors, beer gardens and chili tastings on Saturday along Newport Avenue in Ocean Beach. Admission is free, with tasting tickets available separately.
🎵 The Beach Boys with the San Diego Symphony — Classic California hits meet a full orchestra during a waterfront performance Saturday at the Rady Shell. Also, John Stamos will be there.
🎨 Mass Creativity Day — Families can create art together during the New Children's Museum's annual community celebration Saturday.
🕯️ Candlelight: Queen vs. ABBA — Hear string quartet renditions of two iconic bands Saturday evening inside the San Diego Natural History Museum in Balboa Park, illuminated by hundreds of candles.
🎬 Summer Movies in the Park — Several parks across the county are playing kid-friendly movies Saturday night, from "Elio" to "Zootopia 2."
🎧 Into the Horizon Festival — Tiësto, Martin Garrix, James Hype and Lost Frequencies headline this two-day electronic music festival Saturday and Sunday at Waterfront Park downtown. Ages 21 and up.
🎤 Kool & the Gang with the Sugarhill Gang — The legendary funk and hip-hop groups perform Sunday evening at the Rady Shell for even more nostalgia.
🍴 Taste of Adams Avenue — More than 40 restaurants, breweries and cafés participate in this neighborhood tasting event Sunday from Kensington through Normal Heights and University Heights.
🍦 Scoop San Diego Ice Cream Festival — More than 30 ice cream makers serve samples on Sunday in North Park while raising money for Feeding San Diego.
