Paddleboarding on the Carlsbad lagoon can be a calm, serene activity or a real workout if you're working against the wind.
- Either way, it's a fun way to spend a sunny afternoon.
Zoom in: The 295-acre lagoon is part of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon that you see when driving on the I-5 between Carlsbad Village and the strawberry fields.
- BYOB(oard) or rent one from California Watersports and cruise alongside kayakers, canoers, windsurfers, jet skiers and others with motorized water toys.
- You can stop at a couple quiet beaches, including one off of Bayshore Drive that also has a walk-in launch ramp and walking trail.
🐟 Keep an eye out for the striped mullet that jump several feet into the air and feel like they might splash right onto your board or kayak.
