San Diego loves its bookstores, libraries and silent reading clubs, so here's a look at what people were checking out last year.

The top 10 books borrowed from San Diego County public libraries last year:
- The Women by Kristin Hannah
- Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros
- The Wedding People by Alison Espach
- Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry
- The God of the Woods by Liz Moore
- James by Percival Everett
- Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt
- Funny Story by Emily Henry
- All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker
- Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez
Those same titles were among the most popular for audiobooks, plus:
- Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter
- The Housemaid by Freida McFadden
For children's books, four authors dominated the top 10 chart.
- Diary of a Wimpy Kid - Hot Mess, No Brainer and Diper Överlöde by Jeff Kinney,
- Dog Man - The Scarlet Shedder and Big Jim Begins by Dav Pilkey
- Spy School - Goes Wild and Goes North by Stuart Gibbs
- Cat Kid Comic Club - Influencers by Dav Pilkey
- Big Nate - Remain Calm! and This Means War! by Lincoln Peirce
Teens loved these titles most:
