The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System created a new commemorative PRONTO card to celebrate Black History Month that's available today through February.
Zoom in: The payment card for buses and trolleys features sketches of prominent Black Americans — the Tuskegee Airmen, Jimi Hendrix, Jackie Robinson, Mae Jemison, Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. — blended together in the shape of the U.S.
Local artist and MTS employee Ibn Edwards designed the card that also depicts his father, Eddie Edwards, a San Diego artist.
Get the card at the MTS Transit Store, trolley stations or the MLK Day Parade on Sunday.
