Apparently San Diego pet parents love the name "Luna." It's the most popular name for cats AND dogs, according to data from Rover.
The big picture: The pet-sitting company Rover shares data on the pet names in its database, and the winner across the country and in San Diego is "Luna."
By the numbers: Other names are nipping at Luna's heals.
- For dogs, Charlie and Lucy are rising in popularity.
- For cats, it's Leo, Mochi and Lucy.
Trendy fur babies: Some names have rocketed up in popularity from last year.
- For dogs, it's: Harvey (1038%), Bobby (938%), Rue (438%)
- For cats, Nori (1343%), Bear (218%), Ivy (218%)
Caveat: These trends are just for the pets in Rover's database, not all pets in San Diego.
