Driving the news: "Follies", a Broadway musical about former showgirls reuniting as the theater where they performed is set for demolition, opened the inaugural season.
Tickets are limited for this weekend's shows, but it runs through Oct. 12.
Zoom in: The Joan has two performance spaces — a 282-seat theater called "The Clayes" and a smaller studio called "The Dottie."
Both theaters have flexible seating to accommodate different audience sizes and production needs, and are specially designed to reduce noise from planes.
There are two bars and three patios to enjoy cocktails and mingle before a show, plus an art gallery in one of the lobbies.
What's next: The comedy play "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" comes to the Dottie in October.
