Wavves, The Aquabats! and Deltron 3030: Great concerts across San Diego this week

For years, free community concerts have taken over parks across the city during the summer.

The younger generation, though, is creating its own, DIY version of those gatherings, with free pop-up DJ events around town.

DJ Daniel Joseph gets big crowds in Golden Hill Park every Friday, from 6pm to sunset.
And Winyl Club has continued its success on Wednesday evenings, after moving from Balboa Park to Kate Sessions Park in Pacific Beach.

Here are six other shows to catch this week.

🎙️ Father John Misty, a folk rock enigma, plays the Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre on Wednesday night.

🌊 Wavves, San Diego's surf-garage rock stars, play a hometown show at the Observatory on Thursday.

🦇 The Aquabats!, third-wave ska heroes from Orange County, take a trip down the 5 to play the Observatory Friday night.

🎤 Wocka Flocka Flame continues the SeaWorld Summer Spectacular presented by Jam'n 95.7 on Saturday evening.

🧪 David J X Pall Jenkins plays a set of experimental music at The Silo Room, inside the Bread and Salt arts building in Logan Heights, on Saturday night.

🤖 Deltron 3030, a legendary hip-hop trio, plays House of Blues Sunday night.
