San Diego Airport adds more parking with Terminal 1 rebuild

There are now 2,400 more parking spaces at the San Diego International Airport, which opened the second stage of the Terminal 1 parking plaza Friday.

The big picture: The continued expansion is part of a $3.8 billion-dollar rebuild and renovation of the terminal.

• The next phase is scheduled to open in September with 19 new gates, and the full project, adding 11 more gates, is set to be complete in 2028.
