Miles Byrd withdraws from NBA Draft, returns to SDSU

State of play: Byrd averaged 12 points, four rebounds and three assists per game last season, was one of the NCAA's top perimeter defenders and reportedly shined at the draft combine.

• Magoon Gwath, the 7-foot forward with three-point range, is also returning, opting against declaring for the NBA Draft or a widely speculated transfer to Kentucky.

Catch-up quick: The Aztecs also added three transfers, including forward Jeremiah Oden, who played at DePaul and Wyoming.

• Point guard Sean Newman, Jr. from Louisiana Tech and San Jose State guard Latrell Davis are also joining the team.

The intrigue: But the team's top addition might come from the return of guard Reese Waters, who redshirted last season due to injury after averaging nearly 10 points a game a year earlier.
