Anti-Trump May Day protests planned around San Diego

Thousands of protesters across the country, including in San Diego, are planning to rally today on International Workers' Day, against what organizers call President Trump's "war on working people."
Why it matters: Protests against the Trump administration have built momentum as he faces sinking approval ratings and Americans increasingly witness the ramifications of his policies.
- Today's events will include rallies, marches, town halls and other actions against the "billionaire takeover" of the federal government.
Zoom in: Several May Day protests are planned across the county from Barrio Logan to Carlsbad supporting educators, health care workers, labor unions and immigrants.
- There's a 10am rally at the UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest followed by a march to Balboa Park, and events at 4:30pm at Chicano Park and 6pm at Waterfront Park.
- UC workers will also be striking at UCSD hospitals in Hillcrest and La Jolla.
