👋 Kate here sharing a few reasons to spend the next sunny afternoon at Orfila Vineyards & Winery in Escondido.
State of sips: The firstisthe frosé. Orfila's signature frozen red sangria is refreshing, and not sweet like you might expect, especially when you top it with a red wine floater or champagne.
Dig in: A new food truck by Amalfi Cucina Italiana is serving wood-fired pizzas, charcuterie boards and pastas from noon to 6:30pm every Friday-Sunday.
The vibe: It's a lively property where you can enjoy the vineyard views from the terrace, play cornhole and listen to live music every weekend.
Make reservations for a tour but you don't need them for tastings.
It's dog-friendly and has an outdoor space for kids to roam.
Pro tip: Make a day of it, and visit these other nearby wineries:
Cordiano for the valley and mountain views, especially at sunset.
The village shops and artist galleries with a glass at Bernardo Winery.
