Chef Jun brings affordable omakase sushi to Point Loma

Chef Jun offers an affordable way to get a Japanese omakase experience, where the chef decides what you order.

Dig in: The $48 multi-course meal includes edamame, four pieces of sashimi, four pieces of sushi, two pieces of seared salmon oshi, a hand roll, a noodle dish and miso soup.

The fresh fish and flavors vary with each bite, but all the dishes are beautiful and surprisingly filling.
There are different levels ($35-$65) of Kappo by Jun depending how hungry you are.

The latest: Chef Jun recently opened a second location in a Point Loma shopping center, and it's open for lunch on weekends unlike the original Bay Ho spot.

The new restaurant welcomes guests with pink cherry blossom trees and a bright, warm modern interior.

The intrigue: Make a reservation at either location for the intimate, full-course omakase experience ($120) that's not on the menu and lasts two hours.
