San Diego's Comic-Con Museum unveils new exhibits

The Comic-Con Museum has two new exhibits coming to its Balboa Park location in the next few months.

Driving the news: Executive director Rita Vandergaw unveiled the new attractions last week during the museum's panel at WonderCon, an Anaheim convention put on by Comic-Con International.

• "Sangre, Sudor, Myth: The Art, Culture, and Heritage of Mexican Lucha Libre" will open on May 22, and is a partnership with the San Diego office of the Consulate General of Mexico.

Fun fact: Chula Vista is the hometown of Lucha Libre superstar Rey Mysterio.

State of play: On June 30, a yet-to-be-named exhibit on tokidoki, the Japanese-inspired work from Italian artist Simone Legno.

• Last month, a Dr. Who exhibit made its U.S. debut at the museum.
