If we had to pick a Super Bowl winner based on their food representation in San Diego… Philadelphia is running away with it.
Dig in:Gaglione Brothers serves up a hearty, authentic Philly cheesesteak with thinly shaved steak, grilled onions, and American cheese in a toasty Amoroso roll (a necessity).
The family-owned neighborhood sandwich shop in Allied Gardens has seen business ramp up this week, and their big catering orders for Sunday are filled, an employee told us.
Best bite: The melty Cheez Whiz Steak with grilled onions and topped with hot cherry peppers for a little zing.
Runner-up:Giorgino's in Golden Hill will also satisfy your classic cheesesteak craving on game day.
Reality check: Quality Kansas City-style barbecue is hard to come by in San Diego, but Phil's BBQ is probably the closest thing.
