San Diego bars and restaurants are making spirits bright with over-the-top holiday decor, festive cocktails and pop-ups.
Why it matters: It's fun to get dressed up and sip on some Christmas cheer this time of year.
Driving the news: InsideOUT's Holiday Oasis Experience is a tough reservation to snag, but you can experience the magic with light bites and cocktails in the 18+ atrium lounge that takes walk-ins.
- Giant nutcrackers, ornaments and snowflakes transform the outdoor space that's lit up by Christmas trees and festive photo ops.
The intrigue: The cocktails are pricey ($18), but filled to the brim with holiday spirits.
- The "Tinsel-tini" is made with Grey Goose orange, St. Germain, pomegranate juice, orange bitters and brut.
- The "Chai-lent Night" gives hot toddy vibes with Angel's Envy, chai tea, honey and orange juice, plus it's served in a cute mug.
The big picture: There are tons of holiday pop-up bars sprinkled through the city that are bursting with Christmas cheer. We rounded up a few:
- Get "Snowed in" at Fort Oak's snow globe-inspired pop-up in Mission Hills.
- Miracle is back with festive drinks and decor at Draft at Belmont Park.
- In Pacific Beach, Duck Dive is decked out with A Great Dickens' pop-up, and the tiki-themed Sippin' Santa took over Grass Skirt.
- Good Night John Boy is groovin' with the disco Xmas bar downtown, The Jingle Bar landed its sleigh at Bang on 5th in Gaslamp and Parq Nightclub has become Santa's Lair.
Zoom in: Nolita Hall has turned into a glowing winter wonderland in Little Italy and is now open on Mondays. Craft & Commerce and Nason's Beer Hall also rolled out their seasonal cocktails and decor.
- In South Park, Mothership commenced its "Lost On Holiday" protocols with festive lighting and cocktails.
- Get tickets for brunch or a night out at the new Holly Jolly Bar at Las Tres Catrinas in Chula Vista.
- Book a beachside igloo at Hotel Del Coronado for a cozy night with drinks and s'mores around the fire pit.
