⚽ The San Diego Wave signed University of Texas star forward Trinity Byars to a three-year contract. She's the first active NCAA player to join the NWSL after the league's draft was eliminated.
Meanwhile, San Diego FC hired four key leadership staff members as it builds its front office ahead of the inaugural 2025 MLS season.
⚾ Padres manager Mike Shildt signed a two-year contract extension through 2027 after a successful first season at the helm.
🏐 The San Diego Mojo announced local businessmanand UCSD alum Gary Jacobs as a new owner of the pro volleyball team. He's also a majority owner of the Lake Elsinore Storm, the Padres' Single-A affiliate, and co-founded High Tech High Charter School.
The Mojo will draft new players this month before its second season starts in January. The home opener is Jan. 16 at Viejas Arena.
