California voters headed to the polls Tuesday to weigh in on a number of races from U.S. President and Senate to state legislature races.
State of play: U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (D) defeated Republican Steve Garvey to represent the state in the U.S. Senate.
Half of California's state Senate seats were up for reelection on Tuesday as well.
What else we're watching: Both San Diego's and San Francisco's mayors are running for reelection, while a number of cities will be weighing in on local sales tax increases.
California voters will also decide on 10 statewide ballot measures ranging from expanding local authority to enact rent control to allowing felony charges for and longer sentences for possession of certain drugs.
