San Diego Wave defender Naomi Girma scored her first and second international goals in the USWNT's 3-0 win over Argentina Wednesday night.
Why it matters: Girma is one of the best players in the world, and an essential leader on the women's national team who's just getting started.
What she's saying: "I feel like anytime anyone gets their first goal, it's always such a joy and the whole team gets excited," Girma said after the game. "So it was fun to get mine tonight."
What's next: San Diego's star will be back for the Wave's final game of the NWSL season on Sunday at Snapdragon.
