San Diego isn't exactly known for attracting leaf peepers, but the fall foliage we do see is on the verge of peaking.
Zoom in: In San Diego, orange and red leaves are expected to display in "patchy" arrangements this week, and progressively reach their local peak during the first two weeks of November.
- Just an hour east, Mount Laguna offers an easy outing to see the fall foliage — and once you're in the car, it's just another half hour through the Cleveland National Forest to Julian to cap a fall day trip.
- William Heise County Park and the trails at Cuyamaca Rancho State Park are great spots to see California's golden black oak trees.
