Padres even NLDS with blowout Game 2 win over Dodgers

The San Diego Padres blew out the the Los Angeles Dodgers 10-2 Sunday to even the National League Division Series at one win apiece.
Why it matters: The Padres are now 10 wins away from their first World Series title.
Driving the news: Yu Darvish turned in a gem for the Padres, allowing one run over seven innings with three strikeouts.
- Fernando Tatis Jr. went 3-4 with a double and two home runs, and Jackson Merrill went 3-4 with a two-run homer that broke the game open in the eighth inning.
- Padres pitchers held Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani to an 0-4 night with two strikeouts.
Friction point: Stadium security delayed the game for about 10 minutes in the 7th inning after Dodgers fans threw objects at Jurickson Profar and Tatis Jr..
- In the first inning, Profar robbed Dodgers star Mookie Betts of a home run, then taunted the fans in the outfield seats where he made the catch.
- Padres third baseman Manny Machado gathered the team for an impromptu dugout meeting after the fracas, and Darvish responded with a scoreless inning before Merrill's homer.
- Dodgers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty and Machado also had an extended back-and-forth with each other in the sixth inning.
State of play: The best-of-five series now comes to San Diego for Game 3 Tuesday and Game 4 Wednesday.
- Michael King, coming off a stellar start in the Wild Card Series, is expected to start Game 3 for the Padres.
- Both games are set for a 6:08 start, and will air on FS1.
Catch up quick: The Padres lost a back-and-forth Game 1 Saturday 7-5 after taking a 3-0 lead in the first inning.
