👏 Congrats to Phillip S., one of many readers that recognized this mural was in Chicano Park in Barrio Logan.
The big picture: The "Ninos Del Mundo" mural is one of more than 100 paintings on freeway pillars and walls under the Coronado Bridge at the park that has the largest concentration of Chicano murals in the world.
The public art display is "an outdoor cathedral to community activism" that celebrates Chicano history and culture and hosts free community festivals.
Flashback: The park was officially formed and painted with murals in the early 1970s after local residents fought for the land in the Mexican-American neighborhood that was divided by the construction of Interstate 5.
