Here are some plans to make the most of it, whether you're into surfing, live music, comedy shows or street fairs.

🏄🏼‍♀️ Super Girl Surf Pro Festival

The largest professional female surfing event in the world, this three-day event also features a music festival with 15 free concerts, beach soccer and volleyball, an art expo, beer gardens, and more.

When and where: Friday to Sunday, 8am-7pm around the Oceanside Pier.
Cost: Free

🎸 Adams Avenue Street Fair

The 42nd mass gathering of local music brings together 74 musical acts on seven stages — including indie rockers Creature Canyon and world music rising star Mitchum Yacoub, plus carnival rides, beer gardens, vendors and more.

When and where: Saturday and Sunday, 10am-10pm along Adams Avenue.
Cost: Free

🎃 Carlsbad Pumpkin Patch Opening

It's opening weekend for the pumpkin patch at the Carlsbad Strawberry Company, with tractor rides, corn mazes and other seasonal activities.

When and where: Daily 9am-6pm through Nov. 3 at Carlsbad Strawberry Company.
Cost: $10-$12

🍺 AleSmith Oktoberfest

Join one of San Diego's OG breweries as it turns into AleSchmidt to celebrate the annual German tradition.

When and where: The brewery's Miramar tasting room, Saturday from 1-8pm.
Cost: Free

🤣 Comedy Night at the Guggenheim

Have a laugh at the new monthly stand-up show featuring four comics, headlined by Edwonda White.

When and where: Friday, 8pm at UCSD's Park & Market venue downtown.
Cost: $45+
