San Diego Wave star and soccer icon Alex Morgan took the pitch for the final time Sunday, three days after announcing her retirement.
State of play: Morgan started the game before subbing out in the 13th minute to a standing ovation and hugs from her teammates.
- She was visibly emotional as she took off her cleats and left the field officially ending her professional soccer career.
What's next: The Wave lost yesterday's game to the North Carolina Courage 4-1.
