If you've been to Mission Bay recently, it might be obvious that we're in prime cookout season. But conditions will be best this weekend.
The big picture: A five-year review of summer weather data by food research company Pantry and Larder found the optimal date for a summer cookout in San Diego is Sept. 2.
Zoom in: The holiday weekend is a big part of what makes this day ideal. Plus, these other factors:
- A maximum feels-like temperature of 88 with a slight breeze.
- Little chance of rain.
- A good mix of sun and shade.
