Simone Biles and Team USA gymnasts are coming to San Diego

Zoom in: The 30-city "Gold Over America" tour kicks off at Frontwave Arena, a new 7,500-seat sports and entertainment venue in North County.

• The event is described as a "pop concert-style spectacle," and a "high-octane, exhilarating and family-friendly show" featuring performances by elite gymnasts and dancers.
• Fans can see stunts by Olympic gold medalists Jade Carey and Jordan Chiles, whose floor routine secured an historic all-Black podium shared with Biles.
• Pommel-horse hero Stephen Nedoroscik and teammates Brody Malone and Fred Richard, who all earned bronze with the U.S. men's team, will also perform.

Driving the news: High demand led to the addition of a second date for the local leg of the Team USA tour.

• Tickets ($81+) are on sale for 7:30pm shows on Sept. 16 and 17.

Fun fact: The arena is also the new home of the San Diego Clippers, a G League basketball team, as well as the San Diego Sockers indoor soccer team.
