Earlier this year, billboards began popping up across the country — touting the "#1 Trusted News" next to a man's face and an internet address for The Epoch Times.
Why it matters: There's a complicated story behind the site, especially after the latest development: a money-laundering indictment last month against Weidong "Bill" Guan, its chief financial officer.
The company said in a statement it would cooperate with investigators and that Guan is suspended until the case is resolved.
