The latest:Walton's death Monday coincided with the weekly Electric Waste Band show, a Grateful Dead tribute Walton regularly guested with as percussionist (if he wasn't in the crowd).
The weekly gathering doesn't always fill Winstons, but it did Monday, with nearly 200 fans there to remember Walton.
The tribute started with a video Walton recorded two years ago for the band's 30th anniversary.
"Thank you for our lives," Walton said. "Thanks for the culture and community."
