San Diego County added three more cities where the typical home is $1 million-plus this year, per a recent Zillow report.
Why it matters: San Diego is one of the top 10 metro areas with homes at the million-dollar price point.
Zoom in: Ten local cities have typical home values above $1 million, including Rancho Santa Fe ($4.1 million), Del Mar ($3.6 million), Coronado ($2.5 million), Solana Beach ($2 million), Encinitas ($1.8 million), Carlsbad ($1.5 million) and Poway ($1.2 million).
The newcomers: Bonita, a suburb southeast of downtown near Chula Vista and National City, joined the list this year.
The big picture: The number of "million-dollar cities" nationwide climbed from 491 to 550 in the last year, partly becausedemand for homes outside of urban areas has grown since the pandemic, Stephanie Anton, president of the Corcoran Affiliate Network, tells Axios.
