Best Day Ever in Pittsburgh: Artist Emily Krill

• Her work has been shown in galleries across the Northeast and is held in private and commercial collections, including at The Pittsburgh Foundation and BNY Mellon Bank. She's represented by the ZYNKA Gallery.

What's next: She'll bring original collages and prints to the Handmade Arcade Holiday Market, Dec. 4-6 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

Krill mapped out her Best Day Ever in Pittsburgh. Here's how she'd spend it:

🏆 Morning activity: Donate an odd object to the Center for Creative Reuse, then buy something new, like a women's lacrosse trophy from 1983.

☕ Breakfast: Rockin' Cat Organic Cafe in Point Breeze for their Smithsonian Bird Friendly certified coffee.

🖼 Afternoon activity: Stop by Artist & Craftsman Supply to make something beautiful with the trophy.

🥟 Lunch: Polska Laska in Sharpsburg. Walk off the pierogies at art galleries Atithi Studios, Ketchup City Creative, and ZYNKA Gallery, which represents me.

🎭 Evening activity: Improv at Arcade Comedy Theater. It's truly funny.

🍕 Dinner: Rockaway Pizzeria in Regent Square for New York-style pizza by the slice.

🥞 Best Pittsburgh tourist trap: Pamela's Diner for the famous crepe-style pancakes.

🎶 Best underrated Pittsburgh activity: Listening to the orchestrion at Clayton, the Henry Clay Frick Mansion. An orchestrion is a large, self-playing mechanical instrument that replicates the sound of an entire live orchestra. It's like turn-of-the-century karaoke.

💭 Favorite under-the-radar Pittsburgh lore: Pittsburgh used to have a Chinatown. The Boulevard of the Allies' construction destroyed most of it, but Chinatown Inn is still open on Third Avenue.
