Voting has started in Allegheny County for the upcoming midterm elections.
Why it matters: Pennsylvania has made it easier to cast your ballot before Election Day on Nov. 3 and Allegheny County has several options.
Satellite voting: You can register to vote, fill out a ballot and submit it all in one fell swoop. Expect some lines, especially on the weekend dates.
- Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 4pm at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall Auditorium in Oakland.
- Oct. 17, Oct. 18, Oct.24, and Oct. 25 from 9am to 4pm at CCAC Homewood, North Park Ice Rink, South Park Ice Rink, and the County Office Building in Downtown.
Ballot return sites: If you applied for and filled out a mail-in ballot at home, you can return to it to 13 ballot return locations from Oct. 30 through Nov. 3 during operational hours.
- Remember you must return your ballot yourself. The locations are staffed by county election staff and usually a police officer.
