Pittsburgh's favorite foods have been stuffed into one ridiculously massive sandwich — and you can eat it at a Penguins game.
The intrigue: A new Pens season is upon us, and that means new treats at PPG Paints Arena.
Zoom in: The Ultimate Penguinator combines turkey, roast beef, ham, provolone, cheddar, pierogies, mozzarella sticks, waffle fries, lettuce, tomato, and roasted garlic ranch on an herb Italian sub loaf.
- The Smokehouse Steak & Cheese Bread Cone loads 12-hour smoked shaved steak, caramelized onions and Cooper Sharp fondue into a sesame bread cone. There's also a meatball cone and barbecue pork and mac-and-cheese cone to try.
- Grab a "They're Dancing in the Aisles!" sandwich, which is named after one of former broadcaster Mike Lange's famous sayings. It's an Italian beef hoagie with seasoned shaved beef, provolone, pepperoncini, giardiniera, and beef au jus on an Italian roll.
🌮 Mexican food items are available at the new Insta Grill in Section 119.
- Beef birria tacos: Jalisco-style braised beef, Oaxaca cheese, cilantro onions, crispy corn tortillas dipped in beef consommé.
- Tex-Mex Cajun chicken quesadilla: Cajun-seasoned chicken, roasted corn, and black beans, with jack cheddar cheese, served with roasted red pepper crema.
For dessert, try the cup filled with fresh strawberries, Dubai chocolate syrup, and peanut-butter-stuffed pretzel nuggets.
What's next: The Pens' home opener is Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens. Puck drop is at 7pm.
