Pittsburgh probably isn't getting a Rainforest Cafe anytime soon, but you can get your tropical fix at an immersive Downtown Tiki bar and restaurant with its own erupting volcano.
The big picture: Spork Island Trading Co. opened in July in the former August Henry's Burger Bar.
- The 21+ space has an 8-foot volcano with all the thunderous theatrics, waterfalls, Tiki huts, jungle pathways, private booths and a hidden cave.
Dig in: The menu features globally inspired shareable plates like tuna poke ($20), lobster rangoon ($15), mochiko fried chicken ($14) and wagyu sirloin ($38), plus tropical cocktails built around an extensive rum collection, made with fresh juices and house-made syrups.

- Tuesday-Wednesday and Friday-Saturday 5-11pm, with limited reservations and walk-in seating. Closed Sunday, Monday and Thursday.
