A beloved roadside stand is bringing its signature smashburgers and desserts to Monroeville.
The big picture: Tastyland opened its first location outside its longtime home in Greensburg this summer, debuting a two-story restaurant on William Penn Highway.
Zoom in: The Monroeville location builds on Greensburg's winning formula, serving smashburgers and the ice cream that have made Tastyland a local staple since 1950.
- Burgers come on brioche buns run through a dedicated butter roller and flat-top toaster for crispness and are branded with the Tastyland logo. You can find wagyu hot dogs, crinkle fries and a long lineup of soft-serve favorites, including dipped cones, milkshakes, sundaes, parfaits and slushies.

How it works: Order near the menu signage as you enter. Choose a single ($9.99) or double ($13.49) smashburger, add cheese or bacon ($1.50 each), and pick a sauce — ketchup, mayo, mustard, ranch, BBQ, garlic aioli or signature Tasty Sauce.
- Finish it with toppings like lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles or crispy onions. Add crinkle fries ($3.99), then head to the ice cream counter for dessert.
- The dessert menu ranges from classic vanilla cones to loaded creations like the Strawberry Belgian Waffle and Ooey Gooey Crunch.
- Upstairs, the 21-and-up Tipsyland features a full bar, specialty cocktails, duckpin bowling, pool table, arcade games and a rentable party room. You can also bring your food upstairs.

The vibe: Modern with nods to its old-school roots, high ceilings and romantic lighting in the evening.
- We ordered a single smashburger, fries and a chocolate cone dipped in cherry — a nostalgic treat that's harder and harder to find at local shops these days.
- Lines build quickly on evenings and weekends.

If you go: 4030 William Penn Highway, Monroeville.
- Hours: Monday-Saturday 11am-10pm, Sunday 3pm -10pm.
